CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

On Christmas Eve we joined in on the Waggoner family tradition and the kids put on a Nativity play. Liza and AJ gave powerful performances as Mary and Joseph, despite the the fact they had no lines at all. Ruby, Meredith and Perry were angels and each gave moving solos in the musical numbers. It doesn't have to be fancy; beach towels, flashlights and a candy cane staff. Kids retelling the true story of Jesus' birth- wonderful!

Christmas Day was to be spent with the Wick family, but snow and ice put those plans on hold. We did have a fun time at home Christmas morning watching our kids enjoy opening a few presents. AJ needed some urging to open the next gift and Ruby was excited to see him open the tool belt she got him. Liza was thrilled with a Dora mermaid doll (total girl toy), from Uncle David and Aunt Sharlene.

Some favorite Christmas Memories-

• Liza afraid of the Abominable Snowman (even our little finger puppet of him).
• Playing with activities sets (we call them nativity sets).
• AJ saying Merry Christmas several times a day the whole month of December.
• Making a gingerbread house with the kids and adding leftover Easter and Valentine's Day candy.
• Running damage control while decorating the tree-no broken ornaments this year!

So sad to think how very different next Christmas will be with them all a year older.

NO SCHOOL, NO WORK, JUST SNOW!!

School and work was canceled today so the kids and I went out to the neighborhood hill were kids always gather to sled. Two years ago when we went to the same hill, Liza and AJ just sat in the wagon the entire time. This time they were FULL participants in the snowy fun! Even walking back UP the hill! We were joined by our cousins Meredith and Perry, who loved giving the kids a ride.Ruby went down the hill all by herself-SCARY!

OUR LITTLE ANGELS!

As at many church at Christmas time, ours invited the little kids up front to sing so the adults can all Oo and Ah over them!
Our little angels didn't disappoint. Ruby, true to form, smiled, sang and did the motions. Liza choose to focus on the motions only, with a couple of shout outs to her dad in the audience. AJ, front and center, didn' t take his finger out of his nose for the entire song, until the end, so he could clap for himself along with the audience.

NO TRICKS, ALL TREATS

The weather cleared up at the last minute and the night all 3 kids had been waiting for finally arrived! They totally understood it was about getting candy!

Along with neighbors, friends and cousins, we went Trick or Treating with Tinkerbell, a flapper girl and a boxer.

The next 4 days was spent sorting, carrying, handling and ocasionally eating all that candy!

Plumper Pumpkins

I went with Ruby on her first field trip to the Plumper Pumpkin Patch. I couldn't keep the smirk off my face as I remembered planning many a field trips my self. I much prefer not being the responsible one!

I went away with my dear college friend's for a weekend of eating, sharing and encouraging. Over the years, our eating is becoming a bit more controled and we get more sleep than years past! Just pictures of us and our hike, OK walk, in the Gorge.
